Book Nerd Kate’s Review:  ☕☕☕☕☕
The Break Series was initially released as 3 novellas (Spring Break, Summer Break, and Winter Break). I read each novella as it released. Andrea Johnston has now combined the novellas into a full length novel (with an added bonus chapter!) The Break Series was full of angst as I watched Phoebe & Madsen evolve from frenemies to something more, and then saw the struggles they went through as they both started their careers on opposite ends of the country. Both Phoebe and Madsen needed to make big decisions about what was most important to each of them. I was definitely on the edge of my seat as I waited to see what happened next. This novel definitely had its serious moments, but there were still some laughs and definitely lots of sexy! The Break Series is perfect for a light vacation read (I read Summer Break on the beach), or as a mental escape from the cold weather (as I read Winter Break while braving the cold in the Poconos). I was definitely a little worried that the series was not going to end the way I wanted to when I was about half way through the Winter Break part of the novel, but Johnston came through in the end! I give this series 5 cups of coffee because each time the novellas released I found myself unable to put them down, wanting to know what happened next! I have already re-read all of the novellas too!
