The Holiday Season is fast approaching and you may be scrambling to come up with some gift ideas for the people you love ( I know I am). But what do you buy someone who loves books.. other than, you know, books?
I’ve compiled a list of my 5 favorite book-related vendors to help you find that perfect gift for the author/reader/book lover in your life!
Blooming Books started when Gloria began to think of ways to raise money for her daughter’s trip to Greece next year for school. She took her creativity and love of books and began creating flowers, bouquets, and wreaths to sell. I have seen the beauty of her work first hand (the bouquet in the tree is mine) and I can’t wait to buy more flowers for my shelves!
These all would make perfect gifts for the book lover in your life.. especially because she accepts custom orders, so you can choose what book the flowers are made from. Flowers are also customizable as far as style, color, or can even select to have the edges of the petals burned (as shown in the wreath above).
Tami runs Mockingbird Apparel out of her own home. She has a number of book-related t-shirts, socks, and pillows in her Etsy store. She has worked with authors to create shirts for their reader groups or that relate to the characters in their books.
Any book lover would be excited to open a gift during the holidays and receive one of these bookish items! I own a few shirts from Mockingbird Apparel and they are good quality and help me to express my love of books while I’m out and about. These are also perfect to wear to book signings and author events.
Kristen is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.. but her candles are even sweeter! She sells bookish candles related to specific characters and books, and some just related to reading in general. I own quite a few of her candles and they all smell wonderful. The candles are definitely high quality and the scents last and smell amazing!
Her candles make great gifts for readers and swag for authors! The book lover in your life would be delighted to receive one of these amazing candles as a gift! My favorite is “I Stayed Up All Night Reading.” It smells like coffee!
The Bookworm Box is a charity bookstore located in Sulphur Springs, Texas, created by Author Colleen Hoover. 100% of the profit after overhead costs are donated to charity. The store sells signed books donated by authors, along with some other book-related items.
Can’t make it to Texas? No problem! The Bookworm Box has an online store where you can purchase awesome book swag or subscribe to receive a box of goodies (including a signed book or two- depending on which subscription option you choose) delivered to your house every month. What book lover wouldn’t LOVE that?
Book Beau started when Benita put a signed paperback in her purse and later found it with a bent cover and pages. She decided to create a sleeve to help protect her precious books when she was out and about. Book Beaus are available in a variety of sizes to best meet your book protection needs.
I personally own 7 Book Beaus in 3 different sizes and I would still gladly accept another as a gift! This is the perfect present for anyone who loves books and wants to protect them. I even use one to keep my planner safe!
I hope this list has helped you to find the perfect gift for the bookworm in your life..
And if all else fails.. buy them books! Or a gift card to get books! You really can’t go wrong.. a book lover will NEVER say they have too many books! Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!!!
